Lansing 150: A Day in History

Picture
Fifty photographs taken by Gerald G. "Doc" Granger were the focus of a Smithsonian Institute exhibit in Washington, D.C., in June 1945.

A Michigan House of Representatives Resolution commended Granger for the honor and for his national and international reputation in the field of photography.

The resolution referred to him as "an outstanding Lansing photographer who has taken pictures around the Michigan Capitol for some 15 years."

He was a State Journal staff photographer where he received and processed the first pictures-by-wire in Lansing.  Many of his photographs from the 1930s and 1940s may be viewed at a Web site www.gggrangerphotography.com, maintained by his granddaughter, Linda Granger.
